I recently met up with a friend in Rochester, NY and we took a trip to the Seneca Park Zoo. I busted out the camera and took a few shots. Here are some of the results:
Polar Bear chilling in the pool. (I’m especially happy with this one since it’s through glass). Look at how big his paw is!
Sunbathing Sea Lion
Sleeping Lions (also through glass).
Thanks for looking! Cheers!
So, I made a light box and decided to play with it a bit. Here are my favorite results. I still need to get the right lights for it. I used 2 LED headlamps set on top of the box and the flash from my camera. Here are a few:
Orange Moose from Ikea
Jameson and Claddagh Ring (B/W)
Jameson and Claddagh Ring (Color) Which do you like better?
Thanks for looking!
So, I’m really kind of sucking at this whole posting pictures thing, I want to blame it on the fact that I haven’t been to much interesting stuff, but that’s not the point of this, so I’m sorry, and I will try and do better. As in at least 1 or 2 posts a week :). To try and make up for some of my splendid slacking here are several pictures from the last few weeks:
Cookies from my sister’s baby shower. I’m waiting on permission from family members before I put up other pictures (ones with people in them). These were super delicious cookies and I think I ate 3 of them at the shower and several later 🙂
This past weekend was a “town’s day” near where I live. It’s the anniversary of when it was founded I believe, and in order to celebrate they have an annual raft race. There was a bit of a pile up on the river, I think there might be a dead tree they were catching on, but that might be further up the river.
Then after the raft race there was a community wide party, and some of the people from the town played music and sang and people hung out around a bonfire and drank beer. It was fun in a kind of bizarre way. Mostly because I cannot imagine such an event happening where I grew up, at least not for free. Well, this little guy was quite tuckered out, and I couldn’t resist snapping a shot, I actually had to crop it down quite a bit just to get the puppy.
Well, I needed to go to bed like a half hour ago… So, night!
Thanks for looking! Peace out girl scout!
Well, today and tomorrow my parents are visiting, which is lots of fun, I wish they could stay longer but for some reason people seem to think I’m a grown up now and need to do things like work, sigh… Today we went down to Weston, VT (same place I went last weekend). I figured they would get a kick out of the Vermont Country Store and the Weston General Store. They seemed to have fun, despite the decent number of people around and all the noise making toys. We were leaving when I saw a sign for a National Forest Road. We drove up it and found a super pretty lake. I got this picture there:
I’m pretty pleased with it overall. I have no idea what we are doing tomorrow, hopefully something that will get me some pictures 🙂
Thanks for looking! Salud y amor y tiempo para disfrutarlo! (“Health and money and time to enjoy it” in Bolivia).
Today went well. I went for a bit of a drive after work and I got this picture:
I was driving along and saw this and stopped and took it out of my sunroof. Hopefully tomorrow will bring some more photo ops 🙂
Thanks for looking! Živjeli (Croatian)
Well, today wasn’t to exciting. I went grocery shopping and stared making a tiny dent in the cleaning I need to do before my parents get here on Friday. Cleanings on the agenda for tomorrow as well. Hopefully with better results :). I was trying to get a picture of a caterpillar today when I got this picture by accident:
It’s just some leaves by my front door that are left overs from the fall. I liked the texture in this shot. I can almost hear them crunching just looking at them. Also, there was a little bit of a fog on the lens from going from inside to outside in the cold, and it added to the soft focus around the edges quite nicely I thought. We’ll see what tomorrow brings in terms of pictures. I’m really looking forward to some green leaves and flowers soon, I’m really sick of stick season 🙂
Thanks for looking! Biba! (Chamorro (Guam))
I had today off work (hooray!), so I decided to go on a bit of an adventure. I went to Weston, VT to visit The Vermont Country Store. I think the best word to describe this town is charming. It pretty much had everything I expect from a Vermont town. A library, a white church (this one had several), a theater/playhouse, a town store, and a graveyard. The difference between Weston, and a lot of other town in Vermont is that everything was well maintained and very attractive. I rather like this picture from today:
This is in the Vermont Country Store. My sister thought all the Maple Syrup was very Vermonty. If you would like to see my other pictures from today you can here. Let me know what you think!
